Early morning, our guide will pick you up from your hotel in Luxor to discover the city that contains a large amount of ancient Egyptian monuments. Indeed, Luxor was the old capital of the ancient Egyptian Empire. Luxor is one of the most important sites of monuments and antiquities in the world. We will head to the West of Luxor. Firstly, you will start visiting the Valley of the Kings. It is the burial site of pharaohs from 18th, 19th, and 20th dynasties.
Note: The Tomb of Tutankhamon requires an extra ticket purchased on the spot buy your own if desired.
Later, you will visit the two Colossi of Memnon which belong to the Pharaoh Amenhotep III in the 18th dynasty. Each colossus measures 19.5 m in height and carved from one single block of quartzite stone. Afterwards, you will visit El Deir El Bahari Temple built by Queen Hatshepsut in a great unique design and fine decorations. Lunch at a local restaurant (Beverages are extra).
Following, you will be driven to the the east of Luxor to visit the Karnak Temple, the huge wonderful ancient buildings and sanctuaries of ancient Thebes. It is dedicated to the Theban Triad Amon, Mut, and Khonsu. The Karnak temple was built by several kings like Senusret I, Amenhotep III, Ramses II, Queen Hatshepsut, Tuthmosis III and others. The templet of Karnak includes several pylons tall tower-like doorways, courtyards, obelisks, sanctuaries, and the the sacred lake. Then, you will visit the Temple of Luxor, a very impressive ancient temple built by Amenhotep III around 1420 BC. Return back to your hotel in Luxor. (End of the program).
