Hurghada is a paradise for amateurs of diving, snorkeling, windsurfing and other water sports. It is famous for its beauty and richness in marine flora and fauna. Hurghada also has many offshore islands, such as: Sheduan Island, Gifton Island, Umm Gammae, Dishet El-Dhaba, Abu Ramada Island, and Abu Minqar Island.
Hurghada today is a world center for sea sports such as diving, snorkeling, sailing, windsurfing, and deep-sea fishing. The unique offshore underwater gardens are justifiably famous among divers. The warm waters here are ideal for varieties of rare fish and coral reefs, observed through glass bottom boats. Next to Hurghada there are newly developed resorts, which include: Sahl Hasheesh, Makadi Bay, and El Gouna.
